How The Brothers Net came to be

One night in February 2009 WA9KFB was crusing the bands when he came accross a QSO involving three hams.  While listening to their converstaion he happened to hear NØDNR make the comment that he was originally from Wisconsin.  So after the QSO ended, WA9KFB Phil contacted NØDNR Larry.  During their QSO, Phil told Larry that he  was also from Wisconsin.  Not that unusual.  But then it started getting better.  As they visited each discovered that they both had brothers who are Hams.  Still not too earth shaking.  Then they both told each other how their brothers had gotton them into Ham Radio.  Wow now it started to get interesting.  What else could these two guys possibly have in common.  Well, each of the siblings fathers had also been Hams.  And to top it off each of their brothers now sported their fathers old call signs.  Phil's brother Kurt is WA9KMB, which was their fathers call sign and Larry's brother Ted is K9RCE, which was their fathers call sign.  Turns out that Phil WA9KFB & Kurt WA9KMB are both from Medford, WI. and Larry NØDNR & Ted K9RCE are both from Baraboo, WI.  The towns are about 125 mile apart.

So the four of them would get together on Sunday morning just for rag chew, when it dawned on them what is Ham Radio after all.  It is a Brotherhood.  Hence the Brothers Net was founded.
